  • Structural steel is designed in tandem with the oak stairs. Half inch square overhang treads keep a modern touch.

  • A custom oak handrail goes up the stairs, round inch and a half dowels keep things simple and clean.

  • Sea colored handmade custom zellige tile give an old-world charm in this modern shower. Thicker than usual grout joints set each piece apart while helping to blend the wavy edges- the hallmark of handmade tile.

  • The custom round dowel oak handrail and pickets of the stair end perfectly with the rectangular structural steel post.

  • Exposing old framing is a beautiful thing, and not always as easy as it looks. Steel flitch plates, posts, and beams were added to these ceiling joists to bring hundred year old rough sawn dimensional lumber up to current building code.

  • Retro square block glass windows are back en vogue, perfect for this mid-century bathroom remodel. Simple decoration- old vases with a monstera leaf, give visual interest without clutter.
